Over the past month I have made several visits to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition will launch here in October and some of the exhibitors are specifically thinking through commissions developed about Birmingham or work that is related to the Waterhall Gallery space. We have some great projects coming together including  a temporary project that is being developed by Jivan Astfalck and her MA students at the Birmingham School of Jewellery which explores badges and will compliment the work that Elizabeth Turrell is producing work for the exhibition. Three of the exhibitors Paul Scott, Shane Waltener and David Gates visited the exhibition space in July and I will try to update some ideas and thoughts from them beginning with a link to David’s blog where he talks about his experience of visiting the Waterhall.
